Take You Higher is an eight-piece band assembled for their love of the multi-cultural message and homegrown rock/pop/funk that is undeniably Sly and the Family Stone. The band started in 2005 and like Sly and the Family Stone, the idea came from the sax player of the band Jeff Robinson. Take You Higher perform the music of Sly Stone and other funk tunes of the '60s and '70s.

I hit post too fast! It looks like there are three of us who have noted ourselves as "going" to the Take You Higher show at Harper's. Anyone else interested in joining us? Please chime in on this message's thread if you're interested in meeting up with us. The show is at 10 and at least two of us seem to be interested in dinner around the corner at Soul Fire at 9.

This concert is an outing for the "Boston Rocks!" group on HLG. If you'd like to join us, please do!
